Intervention

Terms of Use

Last updated October 5, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the makers of Intervention (“we”). By using the app you agree to them. Your license to the app itself is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms add the rules for the Intervention service. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

What Intervention is

Intervention helps you spend less time on your phone. It locks apps you choose using Apple's Screen Time, and an AI character steps in when you slip: it calls you out, nags and cheers you on. It's a habit tool for adults and teens 13 and up. It isn't medical, psychological or addiction treatment.

The characters

Locks

Locks work through Apple's Screen Time and depend on it. We can't promise every app or site will always be locked, and you can always remove locks in Intervention or in iOS Settings. Breaks unlock everything for the time you choose.

Subscriptions

Fair use

Please don't misuse the service: no trying to get around daily limits, overload our servers, pull out the voices or characters, reverse-engineer the app, or use characters to make content that harms other people. We may limit or end access for anyone who does.

Ours and yours

The app, characters, art, voices and writing belong to us or the people we license them from. What you type or say stays yours; you let us process it only to run the app, as the Privacy Policy describes.

No guarantees

Intervention is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, like missed messages while an app was locked. If we are liable for something, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live that can't be limited.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and we'll tell you in the app if the change matters. You can stop using Intervention any time by deleting it (and canceling any subscription). We may stop offering the service, and if we do while you have a paid subscription, we'll tell you first.
